I didn't have to (or get to) do the dishes all week long . . . they just sat there and moldered.

We had no less than 10 beefcake plumbers doing their best to make us comfortable. This window in the plaster is now home to a nice commercial grade dryer.

The cool water of our charming lagoon was always begging us to step right in. The same lagoon did its best to warp the baseboards.

The beefcake plumbers wanted to be sure we had enough light and fresh air, so they cut several little windows in the kid's bathroom.

And for good measure, they pulled in a demolition crew to help with the master bathroom and the ceiling in our bedroom.

Now I'm sure you'll not want to think about what it looks like under YOUR bathtub. Ours had two inches of standing water. Also, microbes, amoeba, bacteria, green, red and brown algae and at least four types of fungi. Darwin and Aristotle could have gotten together and had a plant kingdom party in there.

Our bathroom exited through the bedroom window.

These two dreamboats spent the day digging . . . .

and digging . . . (left side of the yard)

and digging . . . (right side of the yard) until all hope of clean carpets this spring were lost. I can picture the muddy footprints now . . .

When my neighbor asked what was happening to the lawn , I told him that we were making a maze to train the neighborhood children to run through. He thought I was joking.
On the bright side, my dishwasher and kitchen sink are finally functional (Insert Etta James singing
At Last here), as are two out of three bathrooms. Now if I can just get this smell out of my nose . . .
Also on the bright side, I have never been so thankful to NOT own our house.

Oooh Yuck. Your week was not a pleasant one, I can tell. I was hoping your plumbing issues were over last week.
Mandy, that was going to be my first question, do you own the place you are living in?? What are the landlords doing to help you out of this situation? Hang in there.
OH Mandy, I am so sorry. I to am glad you do not own your home.
Looks like you could use a couple nights in a hotel. Might be worth the expense for your mental health. Hope you are recovering now.
Greate pictorial review of the past week! So sorry you are living in a construction zone. Lets hope that it will be better than new before long and that the condo association will make them re-sod immediately. Good luck. Love you!
My dishes often sit and "moulder" as well, but it is often by choice. (I usually chose other things to do before I have to do them!)
You seem to have a good sense of humor about it all. It must really help that you don't own the place.
I thought of you all day today, especially when I had three plugged toilets. I thought, "OH NO...NO!!! HERE WE GO--just like them!" Let's hope not. I can't believe you had to deal with all that. Whew.
Holy Smokes!! I hope this is all better. I would be pulling my hair out, especially because of the dishes. It's not like you have little kids or anything! :D
Holy moly, Mandy! That all looks absolutely terrible. I can't believe what a huge ordeal that turned out to be. Glad you survived!
As I was reading your post I thought, "please tell me they don't own their house."
Definitely a good thing.
I'm just wondering why the beefcakes heads were cut out of the picture! ;) I'm really sorry for all this; it really stinks! (Pun intended!)
