The waterfront was a great place to try Mo's famous clam chowder and steamers. No kidding, Alice ate more steamers than almost anyone else. That girl surprises me with something new every day.On the way out of Mo's we passed a few hole-in-the-wall souvenir shops, one of which had several smart-alec bumper stickers on display. Seth decided that this would be a grand time to demonstrate his reading prowess to his grandparents and began by announcing "If you are close enough to read this, then you can kiss my . . . (luckily my hand landed over his mouth just in time.)
I didn't personally hike down to the Sea Lion Caves with the rest of the crew because T was napping in the car. However, I'm told that my hypersensitive olfactory senses would probably not be sad they missed the sea lion's foul perfume.

On our trip home we swung by Eugene to visit our old friends, Kyle and Amy. Thanks guys for hosting us for the night! We put the kids to bed and played games late into the night just like the old days. They joined us up in Salem the next day at AC Gilbert's Discovery Village too. I am still exhausted just thinking about all that fun.*pin·ni·ped

I am jealous that they actually saw Sea Lions in the cave. The last few times we've been down there we have not been so lucky. I love the old waterfront in Newport! Now if only the weather would have been 80* for you! :) And Seth's reading story--too funny for words! Haha
I have also been blessed?/cursed? with acute olfactory senses, and have wondered whether the sea lion caves would be a wise destination for me.
Loved the story about Seth's reading material. Way to use your Jedi reflexes! Kind of reminds me of how Q is learning to spell and the other night figured out how to spell "pens" when he was actually trying to spell something else... (we weren't helping him out on that word, since he doesn't use it with any discretion)
That sounds like a lot of fun. We had to make due with the Living Aquarium in Salt Lake, just not the same :)

Fun Spring Break! You live by some fun stuff. Don't you love it when you have to sit in the car and miss something really great because a kid is asleep? That happens to me all the time.
Now we'll have a great itinerary for when we decide we can come! Can't wait. I love the sea lion caves. Too cool!
