From the Archive: Huggies Commercial

Originally posted to my family blog last year:

Okay, I'll admit it. I buy Huggies for my baby. Pricey diapers is one of my luxuries right now. It is sad that one of my only indulgences is riding around on Thomas' bum, but it is worth it. Consider the circumstance of last night. We were finishing dinner while T was crawling around entertaining himself on the floor. The next thing I know, he has pulled up on the table and grabbed the handle of the water pitcher.
He successfully tugged the pitcher off of the table and dumped the entire contents on himself and the carpet. Fortunately, he was only wearing a diaper. Unfortunately, there was nearly two quarts of water in that pitcher.
T's diaper was completely saturated. He looked like one of those kids at the swimming pool that you always feel sorry for. You know, the ones with totally saggy five pound diapers.
I went to work on the floor first, though. It seemed more important at the time, especially since T was having a little too much fun lapping up water from his newly formed pool. Yummmmmm. Carpet water. This was all very amusing to the other kids. You'll understand when I say I didn't notice what else was going on in T's diaper. You guessed it. A big one. Here is where I sing the praises of Huggies diapers. That thing was completely full, and it still held more. Those Huggies engineers should be commisioned to rebuild the New Orleans levees.
I have had three people tell me that I should go on a Huggies commercial. I would be glad to. Here is the thing. They never really mention what actually goes into the diaper on those commercials. Heaven forbid that somebody mention P-O-O. Usually they just pour blue water in the diaper to demonstrate it's astounding capacity. I have never seen blue water come out of one of my kids, so I don't think the Huggies people would be interested.
I was thinking of that lady that sold the Pokemon cards on e-bay, though. Maybe if I type up the story, somebody would want to buy T's diaper for $150?
