Then and Now

I found my old Franklin Planner from college. I thumbed through the pages, and found Saturday, February 28, 1998. Here is my to do list from ten years ago:

EEA Conference (must be something for school, I have no idea what it is)
Zion's Bank (I was the treasurer for my Lambda Delta Sigma sorority chapter)
Get Jean's signature on bank slip (more treasurer stuff)
Change oil in Grand Am
Vacuum
Prepare for Student Teaching interview
Aerobics class
Plan spring break with girlfriends (Oooh, that sounds fun! I wish I could remember what we did!)
Prepare church talk
Study for 366 (I'm sure I knew what that meant at some point)
Date to basketball game 6:30 (with the old boyfriend that I was starting to not like so much anymore)

Compare that with today's to do list:

Grand Am (yes, the same car I've had since I was 19) in the shop for oil change, brakes, shocks, struts, tires and maybe clutch.
Laundry
Spend 10-15 minutes of every hour trying to clean that green crust off the bottom of T's nose
Give up on the green crust
I'd have exercise on this list, but I sprained my ankle at my game (it isn't bad, don't worry mom)
Put away all the miscellany that T spends the day getting out
Pick up Seth from school
Clean all the accumulation out of our big closet so the plumber can come saw a hole in the wall and fix a pipe
Pick up Michael from hospital (his car is in the shop, remember?)
Sip water from a tiny plastic teacup and eat graham crackers with a tiny plastic spoon off of a tiny plastic plate
Wipe bums
Read "The Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear" as many times as I can tolerate it
Listen to lots of whining, but not lose my temper
Baby shower at 7:00

Maybe the first list seems more exciting upon first sight, but I promise, I wouldn't rather be doing anything else than what is on the second list! Well, except for maybe sitting on a beach in Hawaii with Michael and a book . . .

What is on YOUR to-do list?

Here is an update, for all you kind souls justly concerned about the health of our poor, dear, Grand Am:
The mechanic just called. The verdict is: brakes, shoes, drums, wheel-something-ma-jiggers, power steering and hoses, battery, struts, shocks, cam covers, radiator, fuel filter and tires.
The grand total is $$$Disneyland vacation$$$$ or in Michael's eyes, $$$Macbook Pro$$$$. The good news is, I really like to eat beans and rice!
